Manuel González won this Sunday (7) the Hungarian GP, the eighth round of the 2026 Moto2 season, held at the Balaton Park circuit. The Intact GP rider fought a strong battle with Filip Salac, took the lead on lap 12 of the 22-lap race, and went on to triumph for the third consecutive time in the intermediate class championship of the Motorcycle World Championship.

Second place went to Salac, the American Racing Team rider who took the lead at the start and finished more than a second behind Salac. Senna Agius, from Intact GP, was third after fending off attacks from David Alonso, fourth with Aspar, a team that saw Daniel Holgado complete the list of the top five.
Izan Guevara, who started from pole position and had to complete a long lap penalty, was sixth with Pramac, finishing just ahead of Celestino Vietti, seventh with SpeedRS. Alonso López crossed the finish line in eighth with Gresini, while Alberto Ferrandez, from Pramac, was ninth. The list of the top ten also included Tony Arbolino, from Fantic Racing.

The race featured some crashes. Right on the first lap, Aron Canet crashed at turn 12 of the circuit, leaving the dispute. Shortly after, on the fourth lap, Iván Ortolá and David Muñoz touched and fell together at turn 3, leaving the race. Collin Veijer crashed on the seventh lap and also retired.
Moto2 will continue on June 21, when it heads to the Brno circuit for the Czech Republic GP.
