Cacá Bueno starts in the sixth row in Curvelo after a tight qualifying on the oval circuit

One of the fastest drivers on the Curvelo oval last season, Cacá Bueno faced great challenges for Saturday’s (19) qualifying at the Circuito dos Cristais, for NASCAR Brazil. The Team RC driver will start in the sixth row this Sunday, after being among the fastest on Friday.

“I was looking at the telemetry just now and seeing the difference with my teammates who qualified better and the difference is practically only on the straight. The car was very front-heavy in qualifying and the engine hasn’t helped much since the last stages. It’s not as bad as in Londrina, but it’s still complicated. On a track that only has two turns, the straight counts a lot. So I lost a tenth on one straight, a little less on the other, and with a tenth and a half we would be third,” explains Cacá, who is sponsored by Betnacional, Capital Concreto, PicPay, ACDelco, SpeedMax Pneus, Pneu Store, Milwaukee, Turbi, and Chevrolet.

“In the slipstream the car behaves well, but we also have to see because even with the lack of straight-line speed we were fourth yesterday in practice 1, seventh this morning, so the car was behaving better. In qualifying it was a little colder and the car ended up understeering. So, combined with that little lack of engine and the very front-heavy car, that ended up punishing us. The differences are tight, but I will start in the middle of the pack, so at least there will be two very fun races,” completes Cacá.
