The team principal’s absence had been announced by Ferrari itself on Saturday morning, after he underwent examinations at a local medical center. At the time, the team informed that Vasseur would not participate in the day’s activities while remaining under observation.
The return comes precisely on race day, as Ferrari tries to transform the good performance shown throughout the weekend into a significant result. The team arrived at qualifying surrounded by expectations after showing competitive pace in free practice, fueling hopes of securing their first pole position of the 2026 season.

However, Saturday’s final result was less favorable than expected. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc secured only the second row of the starting grid, qualifying in third and fourth places, respectively.
Now cleared by the medical team, Vasseur returns to monitor Ferrari’s operations trackside for the Monaco GP. With Hamilton and Leclerc starting in strategic positions on a circuit where overtaking is traditionally difficult, the presence of the team principal represents an important reinforcement for decision-making during the race.
