Tuukka Taponen secured pole position for the seventh round of the 2026 Formula 3 season. In qualifying held this Friday (23) at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary, the MP Motorsport driver recorded 1min33s947 to take the top spot for Sunday’s race.

Second position went to Freddie Slater, the Trident driver who was surpassed by Taponen by 0s040. Mattia Colnaghi, with a Van Amersfoort car, was third, and will share the second row with Nicola Lacorte, fourth with DAMS. Brando Badoer, from Rodin Motorsport, starts in fifth, while Ugo Ugochukwu, championship leader and Campos Racing driver, will start in sixth.

Theóphile Nael, with a Campos Racing car, will start in seventh this Sunday, sharing the fourth row with Ernesto Rivera, his teammate. Jin Nakamura, from Hitech, starts in ninth, just ahead of Gerrard Xie, tenth with DAMS. Maciej Gladysz and Kanato Le, both from ART Grand Prix, complete the top-12. Le starts from pole in the Sprint.
