Lance Stroll will not participate in FP2 of the Hungarian Formula 1 GP. Aston Martin confirmed that they will not have enough time to repair the AMR26 after the damage suffered by the car during the first free practice session.

The Canadian faced a left rear suspension failure in FP1, which caused damage to the rear of the car. The component was part of the extensive update package brought by the team for the weekend at Hungaroring, and the time available between sessions will not be enough to complete the repairs.
Aston Martin arrived in Hungary with one of the season’s largest development packages, promoting changes in practically all areas of the AMR26. In total, 16 updates were distributed throughout the car.

Among the revised components are the front wing, floor, diffuser, sidepods, engine cover, cooling system, rear suspension, rear region, and the entire rear wing assembly. The team’s objective is to increase the car’s performance, but Stroll will have to miss FP2 due to the damage caused by the suspension failure in the opening session of the weekend.
