Lewis Hamilton finished fastest in the second practice session of the Formula 1 Hungarian GP. This Friday (24), after setting a time of 1min18s729, he managed to end the day in first place on the leaderboard.

The Briton once again showed Ferrari’s strength at the start of this stage at Hungaroring. Charles Leclerc even completed the one-two, 0s148 behind the seven-time champion, to take second place.
Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, and George Russell completed the top five positions on the leaderboard. Gabriel Bortoleto was 11th in the session.
The next session of the Hungarian stage is the third free practice, scheduled for Saturday, 25, at 7:30 AM Brasília time.

For this FP2, all regular drivers were back on track. Therefore, Kimi Antonelli was with Mercedes, Oliver Bearman with Haas, Oscar Piastri with McLaren, Valtteri Bottas with Cadillac, and Franco Colapinto with Alpine.
The weather remained clear and slightly overcast for this second session at Hungaroring. The thermometer read 24ºC and the asphalt was around 32ºC, while humidity was at 30%.
The clock started, and most drivers were already on track. In these first few minutes, everyone opted for new tires, some on mediums and others on hards.
At the moment, Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, and Lance Stroll were the only ones still in the pits. In fact, the Canadian’s car was disassembled in the Aston Martin garage, checking the FP1 problem – he would not participate in FP2.
Still within the first five minutes, Pierre Gasly came on the radio to say that the car was very bad, that nothing was working, and when asked if it was worse than in FP1, the Frenchman confirmed it was.
First laps done and Lewis Hamilton was in first place with 1min19s648, maintaining Ferrari’s good pace. Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, George Russell, and Nico Hülkenberg completed the top-5.
Many drivers were complaining about their cars, and this time it was Antonelli, who said he almost spun twice and that the rear was locking up. Mercedes then asked him to return to the pits.

With 15 minutes already run at Hungaroring, Hamilton was in first position with 1min19s585, with Leclerc, Max Verstappen, Russell, Lando Norris, Piastri, Hülkenberg, Antonelli, Liam Lawson, and Gabriel Bortoleto completing the top-10.
With 40 minutes remaining until the checkered flag, the vast majority of drivers were in the pits. The only ones still on track were Antonelli, Bearman, Albon, and Bottas – Kimi, Ollie, and Valtteri did not drive in FP1.
A few minutes later, the competitors left the pit lane and now prepared to begin qualifying simulations.
Now on soft compounds, times began to drop at Hungaroring. Norris took the lead with 1min19s228, with Verstappen in second. However, the Dutchman was complaining that he didn’t feel comfortable in the car.
With 32 minutes remaining in the day in Hungary, a yellow flag followed by a red flag due to a crash by Franco Colapinto. In the last sector, he lost the rear of the car and hit the protection barrier at turn 14.
Practice restarted at Hungaroring and the drivers didn’t take long to leave the pit lane. Verstappen, Isack Hadjar, Albon, and Sainz were the only ones who remained stopped and did not go out initially.
The competitors began to complete more laps and Leclerc took the lead with 1min18s877, with Hamilton just 0s037 behind his teammate. Meanwhile, Norris, in third, was 0s351 behind the Briton, with the Ferrari duo being the only ones to have gone under 1min19s.
Checkered flag and Ferrari finishes with a one-two, Hamilton fastest and Leclerc second. Norris, Verstappen, and Russell complete the top-5.
