NASCAR Brasil arrives at its second stage of the season this weekend with three races being held at the Autódromo Zilmar Beux, in Cascavel (PR), on the track considered “home” by Gabriel Casagrande.

A driver born in Francisco Beltrão, but having lived his first years in Dois Vizinhos and spent part of his childhood also in Pato Branco, Casagrande has collected three NASCAR Special Edition titles and also won the overall title in 2024.
Third in the Stock Car standings in 2026, Casagrande opened this year’s NASCAR Brasil championship by winning Sunday’s race in Santa Cruz do Sul (RS), but his car was disqualified for being 200 grams below the minimum permitted weight (1,070 kg), after the technical inspection by the stewards. The AMattheis Vogel team filed an appeal with the STJDA and the driver believes that the most important thing now is to recover race by race.

“Our car showed it was fast there in Santa Cruz do Sul and that’s what we’re going to base ourselves on to try to win again. This goal of winning in Cascavel certainly motivates me a lot, especially being close to family and friends, so we’re going to work to try to win and secure many points for the championship,” says Casagrande, who has sponsorships from Baterias Júpiter, Axalta, OnPetro, STP, Cresol, RP Info, UFI Filters, Chevrolet and OMP.
NASCAR Brasil foresees a free practice session on Friday, while Saturday will have another session before the Sprint Race, at 2:30 PM, with only the top six from qualifying. The Sunset Race will still be held on the same day starting at 6:05 PM, while the last race is scheduled for 8:25 AM on Sunday.
