Fabio Di Giannantonio was the fastest rider on Friday (29) during the free practice sessions for the Italian GP, the seventh round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the last of the two sessions held at the Mugello circuit, the Ducati rider prepared by VR46 and winner of the French GP, held two weeks ago, recorded 1min44s808.

Second place went to Francesco Bagnaia, a Ducati rider who was 0.091 seconds slower than Di Giannantonio. Enea Bastianini, with a Tech3 KTM, took third place, followed by Franco Morbidelli, fourth with the other VRR46 Ducati. Fermín Aldeguer, with a Gresini Ducati, completed the list of the top five.
Marc Márquez, back on the grid, was sixth fastest with the Ducati, ahead of Marco Bezzecchi, the world championship leader and Aprilia rider. Jorge Martín, with the other official Aprilia, was eighth on the timesheet, while Álex Rins, from Yamaha, was ninth. The top ten also included Diogo Moreira, a Brazilian who rides for LCR Honda.

Two riders who are in the top 5 of the championship were outside the top ten of the combined times of the day. Ai Ogura, with a Trackhouse Aprilia, was 11th fastest. Pedro Acosta, with a KTM, was 13th fastest. Michelle Pirro and Cal Crutchlow, who are replacing Álex Márquez and Johann Zarco respectively this weekend, were 21st and 22nd.
The MotoGP schedule will continue this Saturday (30), starting with free practice at 5:10 AM, followed by qualifying at 5:50 AM. The Sprint is scheduled for 10:00 AM. The Italian GP is set for this Sunday, with the start expected at 9:00 AM.
