Moto2: Ortolá beats Holgado and leads Friday in Aragón

Ivan Ortolá was the fastest rider on Friday (28) during the free practice sessions for the Aragón GP, the 13th round of the 2026 Moto2 season. In the last session held at MotorLand, the circuit in the Spanish city of Alcañiz, the MSI rider recorded his best lap time of 1min49s791, not being surpassed by his rivals.

Second place went to Daniel Holgado, an Aspar rider who was beaten by Ortolá by 0.058 seconds. Senna Agius, riding an Intact GP bike, was the third fastest, followed by Alonso Lópes, fourth with Gresini. The top five group in Aragón was completed by Celestino Vietti, a rider representing SpeedRS.

Championship leader Manuel González closed the session with the sixth best time of the day on the Intact GP, ahead of David Muñoz, seventh with Italtrans. Alex Escrig, riding a KLINT bike, finished Friday in eighth position, while Collin Veijer, from Ajo, was ninth. Izán Guevara, on a Pramac bike, completed the list of the ten fastest.

The day in Aragón also defined the 14 riders who advance directly to the final qualifying phase. In addition to the ten competitors already mentioned, the list is completed by Ayumu Sasaki from RW Racing, Barry Baltus from Fantic Racing, Ángel Piqueras from MSI, and Taiyo Furusato from Team Asia.
