Marc Márquez secured pole position for the Hungarian GP, the eighth round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the final qualifying session held this Saturday morning (6) at the Balaton Park circuit, the Ducati rider, who had a fall at the beginning of the session, clocked 1min36s785, taking the top spot.

Second position went to Pedro Acosta, the KTM rider who was beaten by 0s053 by Márquez. The front row will also feature Fermín Aldeguer, third with a Gresini Ducati. Fabio Di Giannantonio, with a VR46 Ducati, will start from fourth position, followed by Francesco Bagnaia, fifth with the Ducati and fastest in Q1. Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi starts fifth with the Aprilia.
Raúl Fernández, with a Trackhouse Aprilia, will start sixth, just ahead of Jorge Martín, seventh with an official Aprilia. Luca Marini, who passed through Q1, closes the third row in ninth place with the Honda. Ai Ogura, from Trackhouse, starts tenth, followed by Diogo Moreira, 11th with an LCR Honda. Jack Miller, from Pramac Yamaha, completes the list of the top 12 on the grid.

The session saw some crashes. In the initial round, Brad Binder crashed with the KTM at turns 2 and 3, missing out on qualifying. Early in Q2, Marc Márquez fell with the Ducati, getting up and returning to the bike moments later. Fabio Di Giannantonio had a crash at the same time with the VR46 Ducati and also returned.
Still this Saturday, starting at 10 am, the Sprint will be held at Balaton Park. The MotoGP Hungarian GP is scheduled for 9 am this Sunday.
