Honda Brazil and Honda Argentina have joined forces to compete in the next TCR South America season. This year, the operation will be officially known as Honda Racing, representing the Japanese brand in the main South American category of the TCR concept.

The team will have the Honda Civic Type R TCR at its disposal, a car homologated by WSC and developed according to the category’s rules. Like the other competitors, the vehicle is derived from a commercial mass-production model sold in several countries. On the world stage, the Civic Type R already has more than 600 victories in TCR competitions, consolidating its performance tradition.
Honda Racing’s drivers have already been defined: Argentine Leonel Pernía, 2025 TCR South America champion and a reference in the TCR concept, and Brazilian Nelson Piquet Jr., last year’s TCR Brazil champion and also Formula E world champion, with an international career that includes a stint in Formula 1.

The initiative to unite operations in Brazil and Argentina reinforces Honda’s strategic presence in the region and seeks to strengthen the brand’s relationship with South American motorsport, consolidating its performance in the category.
To prepare for the season, Honda Racing has already begun testing the Civic Type R TCR and promoted technical integration between the teams from both countries, ensuring that all sectors are aligned for the championship.
