Driver representing Invicta Racing in Formula 2, Rafael Câmara secured the second position on the starting grid for the main race of the second round of the 2026 season. In the qualifying session held on the afternoon of this Friday (1) at the Miami circuit, in the United States, the Brazilian was only 0.033 seconds away from the pole position time.

Câmara, who is the current Formula 3 champion, led most of the session that defined the starting positions on the circuit set up in the Hard Rock Stadium area, and took second place in the final moments of qualifying, showing a strong pace, especially in the first sector of the track.
“The feeling on the track was very good. It was quite difficult and, for the tires, it was not easy to keep them in good condition, even in just one lap. But I think we managed to do a good job, especially in free practice. We started off on the right foot. On the first lap everything was fine and we knew everything would be decided on the second lap,” said Rafael Câmara, right after qualifying.

“In qualifying, we try to push our engine without wearing the tires too much, but the first sector was very strong. Also, I think that, compared to others, we were the only team with high downforce. So that was also one of the reasons why I was so fast in the first sector,” Câmara added.
The Sprint in Miami will be contested this Saturday, starting at 11 a.m., while the main F2 race takes place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Sportv and F1TV broadcast the races live.
