Three-time Special Edition champion driver Gabriel Casagrande started the second stage of NASCAR Brasil positively, held at the Zilmar Beux Autodrome in Cascavel (PR). The AMattheis Vogel team driver was the fastest in the first free practice of the weekend, held on the afternoon of this Friday (1) at the fastest circuit of the 2026 season.

The Paraná native, who has the stage in western Paraná as his “home” race, highlighted the low number of laps in the session, since the NASCAR Brasil regulations allow the use of only one set of tires per weekend. Casagrande, in turn, highlighted the pace of car number 83 during the activity.
“It was a day with little activity on the track. In NASCAR Brasil we use the same set of tires from the beginning of the weekend until the second race, so it is necessary to save them. Since the car already came with a very good setup since Santa Cruz do Sul, there were few adjustments. Even so, we managed to finish with the best time of the day. We will continue focused on doing our best,” says Casagrande, who is sponsored by Baterias Júpiter, Axalta, OnPetro, STP, Cresol, RP Info, UFI Filters, Chevrolet, and OMP.

The NASCAR Brasil schedule will continue this Saturday, when another free practice, qualifying, and the Sunset Race, scheduled for 6:05 PM, will be held. The race that closes the visit to Cascavel is scheduled for 8:25 AM on Sunday.
