Joshua Durksen and Kush Maini received penalties after qualifying, which defined the starting positions for the fourth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, held on Friday (5) at the Monte Carlo street circuit in Monaco. Durksen, who is Rafael Câmara’s teammate at Invicta Racing, impeded Maini’s lap, blocking the Indian at turn 6 of the Monegasque circuit. As a result, he drops from tenth to 13th position on the grid for the main race, in addition to moving from first to fourth starting position for the Sprint race.
Maini was also penalized three positions, but for causing a collision. The ART Grand Prix driver hit Laurens van Hoepen’s car, which crashed. Thus, the Indian who would start sixth in the main race will start ninth, while in the Sprint, he will start eighth, and no longer from fifth position, as initially.
