Alexander Dunne was the fastest driver in the only free practice session for the seventh round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, held on the morning of this Friday (3) at the Silverstone circuit in England. The Rodin Motorsport driver, currently in fourth place in the championship, recorded his best lap time in the session at 1min42s065.

The second position went to Brazilian Rafael Câmara, Invicta driver who was beaten by Dunne by 0.071 seconds. Dino Beganovic, driving a DAMS car, was third, also less than a tenth away from the best time of the session. Sebastian Montoya, with Prema, was fourth, followed by Roman Bilinski, fifth with DAMS.
Championship leader Gabriele Mini placed the MP Motorsport car in sixth position, ahead of Joshua Durksen, seventh with Invicta Racing. John Bennett, from Trident, finished the session in eighth, while Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, from ART Grand Prix, was ninth. Kush Maini, the Thai driver’s teammate, was tenth.
Who came very close to the top ten group was the championship runner-up, Nikola Tsolov. The Bulgarian from Campos Racing was 11th in this morning’s session. Another championship highlight, Noel León placed the other Campos car in 17th place. Emmo Fittipaldi, from AIX Racing, was 20th.

From 10:55 am, the qualifying session will take place to determine the starting positions for the two Formula 2 races over the weekend. The Sprint is scheduled for this Saturday, starting at 9:45 am, while the main race takes place on Sunday, starting at 7:15 am.
