Brazilian Rafael Câmara secured pole position for the seventh round of Formula 2, scheduled for the Silverstone circuit in England. The Invicta Racing driver was the fastest in the qualifying session held on the morning of this Friday (3), setting a time of 1min39s690 in the final minutes, earning the top spot for the third time this year.

The second position on the grid went to Alexander Dunne, Rodin’s driver who was 0.201 seconds slower than Câmara. Kush Maini, with ART Grand Prix, starts third and will share the second row on Sunday with Roman Bilinski, fourth with DAMS. Nikola Tsolov, championship runner-up, took fifth place with the Campos Racing car.
Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, with ART Grand Prix, will start from sixth position, while Joshua Durksen, Câmara’s teammate, starts seventh. Rafael Villagómez, from Van Amersfoort, took eighth place, while Ritomo Miyata, from Hitech, was ninth best. Gabriele Mini, with MP Motorsport and championship leader, closes the top 10 and starts ahead in the Sprint.

Another Brazilian on the Formula 2 grid, Emmo Fittipaldi had a rather discreet qualifying session at Silverstone this morning and will start from 21st position with the AIX Racing car.
The Formula 2 schedule will continue this Saturday with the Sprint race, scheduled for 9:45 AM. Sunday will feature the main race, starting at 7:15 AM.
