Manuel González won this Sunday (31) the Italian GP, the seventh round of the 2026 Moto2 season. The Intact GP rider started from pole position at the Mugello circuit, battled in the first half of the race with Iván Ortolá for the lead, but began to open a gap from the 11th of the 19 laps, securing his third victory of the year.

Second place went to Celestino Vietti, a SpeedRS rider who overtook Daniel Holgado on the final lap, relegating the Aspar rider to third place after a tough battle with Senna Agius in the final meters. González’s teammate finished fourth, while Filip Salac, from the American Racing Team, completed the top 5.
Alonso López, on a Gresini bike, finished sixth after serving a penalty. Izan Guevara, from Pramac, crossed the line in seventh, while Barry Baltus, from Fantic Racing, was eighth. Collin Veijer, from Ajo, was ninth, while Deniz Oncu completed the top ten list.

The race featured some crashes. Right at the start, an incident took down Xabi Zurutuza, Arón Canet, and Taiyo Furusato. Shortly after, Alex Escrig fell after being touched by Alonso López, who was penalized with a long lap for the move. Later, Ayumu Sasaki crashed, also retiring from the race. Ortolá, who was fighting for a podium spot, saw his bike have problems on the penultimate lap and retired.
The next Moto2 round will be the Hungarian GP, scheduled for next Sunday at the Balaton Park circuit.
