Fremax faces technical challenge of Velocitta in the second stage of Porsche Cup Brasil

After a busy season opening at the Autódromo de Interlagos, the Porsche Cup Brasil heads to the interior of São Paulo for the second stage of the 2026 championship. The stage will be the Velocitta circuit, in Mogi Guaçu, on March 28 and 29. For Fremax, which celebrates this year four decades of foundation and its 20th consecutive season as official supplier of the category, the track represents one of the biggest engineering challenges on the calendar.

The first stage, held between the end of February and the beginning of March in the state capital, established the balance of the season. In the Carrera Cup, Marçal Muller and Jeff Giassi secured the victories, while in the Sprint Challenge, the dominance was divided between Gerson Campos and Daniel Neumann, who each won one race. Now, drivers and teams face a track with characteristics opposite to those of Interlagos.

Velocitta is recognized for its technical selectivity. With 3,443 meters in length and 12 curves, the circuit presents an average of one variant every 287 meters. This configuration requires constant and precise braking, many of them downhill, which raises the temperature of friction components. Data from Fremax’s engineering department indicates that competitors spend about 25% of lap time with their foot on the brake pedal.

According to Jaison Picoli, Fremax Process Engineer, the main challenge in Mogi Guaçu is thermal management. Since the straights are short, the braking system has smaller windows for cooling between one application and another. Therefore, Carbon+ technology, which uses an alloy with high carbon content, becomes essential to favor heat dissipation and prevent fading (the “softening” of the brake pedal), ensuring that performance remains stable from the beginning to the end of the race.

To support this effort, the cars use the brand’s slotted discs. The grooves on the surface of the discs play a fundamental role in cleaning the contact area with the pads, removing gases and residues generated by high temperatures. This technical solution, validated over two decades of partnership with the Porsche Cup, offers greater resistance to cracks and structural fatigue, crucial items on a track that gives no rest to the brakes.

Beyond performance on the track, Fremax reinforces in 2026 its position as a reference in the replacement market and its environmental responsibility. Through the Recycle Max program, the company continues with the goal of collecting and recycling about 300 tons monthly of used components, applying the same concepts of efficiency and sustainability that have permeated its industrial operation for 40 years.

The schedule at Velocitta includes track activities throughout the entire weekend, with the main races scheduled for Saturday (28) and Sunday (29).
