Néstor Girolami led from start to finish in Race 1 of the TCR South America this Sunday (23), in Córdoba. The driver did not succumb to the pressure from Joaquín Cafaro and secured the victory on a cold morning in Argentina. Check out how the race went:

The start took place with a cold track, only 12ºC on the asphalt and a light drizzle. Therefore, the drivers had a few extra laps for tire warm-up.
Girolami managed to maintain the lead, while Leonel Pernía took third place from Camilo Trappa. Further back, Raphael Reis managed to overtake Nelson Piquet Jr. and moved up to fifth position.
Girolami began to open a gap, while in the middle of the pack the battles remained fierce, with Enzo Gianfratti and Jan Casella fighting for tenth place. The Uruguayan came out on top.

Reis managed to surpass Trappa and climbed to fourth place, starting to chase Leonel Pernía. The Brazilian quickly closed in, but the Argentine defended well. Meanwhile, Trappa went off track and dropped to the back of the grid, having to go to the pits.
The race stabilized for a while. However, with four minutes remaining, Reis had tire problems and had to retire from the race. With that, Tiago Pernía took fourth place.
The race ended with a victory for Girolami, with Cafaro and Leonel Pernía completing the podium. Cafaro also won in the Junior Cup.
