Brazilian driver making his debut season in Formula 2, Rafael Câmara secured fourth place in the race that closed the sixth round of the championship, held on the morning of this Sunday (28) at the Red Bull Ring, in Austria. The owner of the number 1 car from Invicta Racing started from fifth position and was throughout the 40 laps in the pack fighting for the podium.

Câmara bet on a strategy where he started on super soft tires, making the pit stop still in the first half of the race, switching to soft compounds. The Brazilian had a tough battle with Alexander Dunne, managing to overtake him. In the end, Rafael still had to hold off the advance of drivers who used the opposite strategy to his, securing fourth place.
“It was a very intense weekend, on one hand, because the races have more action with the DRS zone, which makes a big difference. But it was a good weekend for the championship. We scored well and, in these moments, we have to maximize what is possible. That’s what makes the difference at the end of the championship,” said Rafael Câmara, who remains in third place in the championship, now with 82 points.

The next round of Formula 2 is scheduled for next weekend, when the category goes to England for the double round at the Silverstone circuit.
