MotoGP defined on this Friday (28) the ten riders directly qualified for the Q2 contest, the final phase of the session that will determine the grids for both the Sprint and the Aragón GP. The 13th stage of the championship is held at MotorLand, a racetrack located in the Spanish city of Alcañiz, where Marco Bezzecchi secured his spot with the best time, clocking 1min45s455, a track record, on an Aprilia bike.

The second spot went to Álex Márquez, a Gresini rider, Ducati’s satellite team, who was beaten by only 0.010 seconds by Bezzecchi. Marc Márquez, with a Ducati from the official team, is also directly guaranteed in Q2, as well as Fabio Di Giannantonio, with another Ducati, this one from VR46, and Fermín Aldeguer, who completed the top-5 with the other Ducati from Gresini.
Raúl Fernández, with an Aprilia from Trackhouse, was the sixth fastest and is another qualifier for Q2, which also happened with Jorge Martín, championship leader and Aprilia rider. Pedro Acosta, with KTM, secured his place in the final qualifying round with the eighth spot, while Franco Morbidelli, from VR46, and Johann Zarco, back on the grid with LCR Honda, close the Q2 list.
Brazilian Diogo Moreira was very close to advancing directly to Q2 qualifying but was beaten by Zarco, his teammate at LCR Honda, and finished 11th, having to compete in the initial phase of the session that defines the starting positions. The same happened with Francesco Bagnaia, only 13th with Ducati.

In MotoGP, the second practice on Friday defines the ten riders who advance to the decisive qualifying round, which counts for pole position. The other competitors participate in Q1, which offers only two spots for Q2. The session result determines the grid for the Sprint on Saturday and the main race on Sunday.
The MotoGP schedule will continue this Saturday, starting at 5:10 AM, with another free practice. Qualifying is scheduled for 5:50 AM, while the Sprint starts at 10 AM. The Aragón GP begins at 9 AM on Sunday.
