Moto3: Quiles beats Almansa at the finish line and wins in Misano

Máximo Quiles won this Sunday (13) the San Marino GP, the 14th round of the 2026 Moto3 season, held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in Italy. The championship leader fought a great battle with David Almansa, managing to overtake only in the final meters, triumphing by 0.021 seconds at the finish line with an Aspar bike.

Second place went to Almansa, an Intact GP rider who started from pole position and led the entire race, unable to hold off Quiles at the end. The podium was completed by Brian Uriarte, who finished third with Ajo. Matteo Bertelle was fourth with MTA after an intense battle in the second group. Valentín Perrone, with Tech3, completed the top 5.

Rico Salmela, Perrone’s teammate, finished sixth, just ahead of Joel Kelso, seventh with GRYD Racing. Adrián Cruces, from CIP, was eighth, with Marco Morelli, from Aspar, in ninth. The top ten was completed by Casey O’Gorman, a rider representing SIC58.

The race in Misano featured crashes. On the very first lap, Álvaro Carpe fell at turn 4, returning to the race shortly after. Still on the first lap, an incident between Nicolo Carraro and Leo Rammerstorfer at turn 14 took both riders out of the race. On lap 16, Joel Esteban crashed and was another to retire from the race.

The Moto3 championship will continue next Sunday, when the Austrian GP will be held, a race scheduled for the Red Bull Ring.
