Moto2 had a historic moment in Jerez, with Collin Veijer securing pole position in an extremely balanced qualifying session. The Dutchman made history by bringing his country back to the position of honor after decades.

The achievement gains even more weight due to the session’s balance, with the front row separated by less than a tenth. The result puts Veijer in a privileged position to fight for victory in the Spanish GP.
Veijer clocked 1:39.101 and narrowly beat Alex Escrig and championship leader Manuel Gonzalez. The performance of the Red Bull KTM Ajo team rider marks the first pole for a Dutchman in Moto2 since 1991, reinforcing the importance of the result in Jerez.
“It’s a very special result,” highlighted Veijer, celebrating the achievement in one of the season’s most contested qualifying sessions. Escrig and Gonzalez complete the front row, showing the high level of competitiveness among the main names on the grid.

On the second row, Senna Agius stands out, after leading part of Q2 and securing fourth position. Alonso Lopez and David Alonso complete the top six, while Daniel Holgado starts right behind, in seventh.
Among the names that fell short of expectations, Barry Baltus will start only from eighth position, without repeating his Austin performance. Izan Guevara, second in the championship, starts in ninth, but with a three-position penalty, will drop to 12th on the grid.
With a very tight grid and several candidates for victory, the race promises intense competition from the start. Veijer’s historic pole adds even more anticipation for the race in Jerez.
