Moto2: Izan Guevara closes Friday with the best time in France

Izan Guevara was the fastest rider on Friday (8) during the practice sessions for the French GP, the sixth round of the 2026 Moto2 season. In the last session of the day held at the Le Mans circuit, the Spanish rider from Pramac recorded his best lap time of 1min34s348, being the fastest of the 14 riders who directly qualified for Q2 in the classification.

The second position went to Celestino Vietti, a SpeedRS rider who was beaten by Guevara by only 0.002 seconds. Barry Baltus, with a Fantic Racing bike, was third, just 0.003 seconds behind the best time, followed by Ivan Ortolá, fourth with MSI. The top five group also included Alonso López, a Gresini rider.

Daniel Holgado, who rides for Aspar, was the sixth fastest, while Colin Veijer, from Ajo, finished Friday with the seventh best time. Manuel González and Senna Agius, teammates at Intact GP, and Ayumu Sasaki, from RW Racing, complete the list of the ten fastest of the day on the shortest circuit of Le Mans.

The session that closed Friday in France also defined the riders qualified for the decisive round of the Moto2 classification. Besides the ten mentioned earlier, the list includes Filip Salac, from American Racing Team, Aron Canet, from Marc VDS, Zonta van der Goorbergh, from RW Racing, and Sergio García, from Gresini.

Saturday in Moto2 will feature a free practice at 4:25 AM and qualifying at 8:40 AM. The French GP will be held on Sunday at 7:15 AM.
