Gabriele Mini won on Sunday (3) the main race of the second round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, held on a wet track at the Miami circuit, in the United States. The MP Motorsport driver took the lead only on the penultimate of the 25 laps contested this morning, in a race ended by time due to incidents, to win for the first time this year.

Second place went to Dino Beganovic, who led in the final laps with DAMS before being overtaken by Mini. The podium also included Rafael Câmara, Invicta driver who started from second position and was leading after the pit stop round. Noel León, with Campos Racing, was fourth, followed by Kush Maini, fifth with ART Grand Prix.
Ritomo Miyata, from Hitech, crossed the finish line in sixth place, just ahead of Mary Boya, seventh at the end of the battle with Prema. Colton Herta, from Hitech, finished eighth, while Sebastian Montoya, from Prema, was ninth. Joshua Durksen, Câmara’s teammate at Invicta, completed the top 10. Emmo Fittipaldi had a combative race and finished 12th with AIX Racing.
The race, which started late due to rain that hit the Miami circuit, featured several neutralizations. Nikola Tsolov, championship leader and Sprint winner on Saturday, retired after being touched by Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, who was penalized by ten seconds. On the fifth lap, the Virtual Safety Car was deployed due to debris on the track after Oliver Goethe hit the wall on the previous lap.

On the tenth lap, Alexander Dunne stopped the car on the track, causing another Safety Car deployment. At this moment, almost the entire pack went to the pits, except Durksen, Herta, and Bennett. On lap 15, another neutralization, now due to an accident involving Nico Varrone, Martinius Stenshorne, and Laurens van Hoepen. The leading trio took the opportunity to change tires. With 17 laps, the Virtual Safety Car was deployed once again, now due to Cian Shields’ car being stopped on the track after a spin.
The F2 season will continue on May 22, 23, and 24 with the Canadian round in Montreal.
