Oliver Goethe was the fastest driver on the first day of Formula 2 post-season testing, held at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. In the activities held this Wednesday (10), the MP Motorsport driver recorded 1min37s203 on his best lap out of 82 laps throughout the day in the United Arab Emirates.

Second place went to Rafael Câmara, Formula 3 champion driver who was outperformed by 0s066 by Goethe. The Invicta driver completed 74 laps and was followed by his teammate for next year, Joshua Durksen, who set the third fastest time of the day. Gabriele Mini, in an MP Motorsport car, was the fourth fastest, while Mari Boya, from Prema, was fifth.
Sebastian Montoya, in a Prema car, recorded the sixth fastest time of the session, finishing just ahead of Noel León, seventh best with Campos Racing. Kush Maini, with ART Grand Prix equipment, was eighth, while Alexander Dunne, from Rodin, set the ninth best mark. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, from ART Grand Prix, was tenth.

In addition to Câmara, the testing day for Formula 1’s main feeder category featured another Brazilian. Emmo Fittipaldi, who will drive for AIX Racing next season, set the 19º fastest time. Emerson Fittipaldi’s son was one of only three drivers whose fastest mark of the day was recorded in the morning.
The Formula 2 post-season testing schedule continues this Thursday, with another full day of activities at Yas Marina.
