Aston Martin’s recovery path will still take some time in Formula 1 in 2026. In fact, Mike Krack warned not to expect a major turnaround as early as the Miami GP in early May.

The start of the British team’s championship has been shrouded in a series of problems. Even with the car designed by Adrian Newey, the Honda engine has not helped competitiveness, in addition to the strong vibration in the chassis posing permanent risks to the driver duo.
Now in April, with the cancellation of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, F1 will go more than a month without races. But even with this idle period, team principal Krack has already stated that a major recovery in the United States should not be expected.

“As I already said in Shanghai, we cannot perform miracles in two weeks, nor in five. It is a continuous work. We saw, with the problems we have had since Barcelona, that if we work hard for three months, or rather, two months, we can improve reliability to the point of being at a level that allows us, at least, to race,” he said.
“So, I don’t think we will close the gap by Miami, but we will try everything to reduce it. And by how much, only time will tell. We cannot forget that Formula 1 is not standing still, and I have said this before, Formula 1 is not waiting for you. Therefore, our competitors will certainly also work hard. With the intensity we have in a racing season, it is difficult to close the gaps. We need to be aware of this and do our best. There is no magic formula,” he concluded.
