The name of Christian Horner has been circulating strongly behind the scenes of MotoGP. According to the Spanish portal SoyMotor, the Briton is among the possible candidates from Liberty Media to take on the role of CEO of the category.

The speculation gained momentum after his presence at the Jerez Circuit, during the Spanish Grand Prix, where he was seen alongside Stefano Domenicali. In the paddock, Horner visited the garages, talked with Koji Watanabe, and met Marc Márquez, whom he called the “Verstappen of MotoGP.”
Commenting on the visit, he downplayed rumors: “I am here as a guest of MotoGP and Liberty Media. I had some time to watch other races and have always been a big fan, so it’s great to be here. Estoril 2005 was my last race and it’s great to see this championship grow.”

Even so, the trip to Jerez may have gone beyond a simple courtesy, amid the category’s transition process after Liberty Media’s purchase of 86% of Dorna Sports. Horner’s possible arrival would mark a new phase, despite Carmelo Ezpeleta remaining in command.
Out of the tracks since his departure from Red Bull in July 2005, Horner has not yet defined his next step. His future remains undefined, but now with the possibility of a path outside Formula 1.
