Marco Bezzecchi maintained the lead in the MotoGP championship after the Sprint race of the Catalonia GP, the sixth round of the 2026 season. The Aprilia rider finished only ninth in the short race this Saturday (16) at the Barcelona Circuit, closing the points zone, but saw Jorge Martín, his teammate, crash. Thus, the Italian reached 129 points, extending the lead by one point over the Spaniard, who has 127.

Pedro Acosta, who crossed the finish line in second place this Saturday after starting from pole position, is third with 92 points, one more than Fabio Di Giannantonio, fourth with 91. The top five is completed by Ai Ogura, who climbed ten positions to finish eighth in the Sprint.
Winner of this Saturday’s Sprint, Álex Márquez moved up to seventh place in the standings, now totaling 67 points. The only Brazilian on the MotoGP grid, Diogo Moreira remains with ten points and occupies 17th place in the championship standings.
