The Cuiabá (MT) stage of TCR Brazil, held last weekend, ended with Raphael Reis in the lead. The driver secured second place in Race 2 and reached the top of the overall standings with only one stage left until the end of the 2026 season. With the result, Reis now has 233 points in the Brazilian championship, opening a five-point lead over the runner-up.

In race 1, Raphael Reis started from pole position but faced difficulties right at the start, dropping to fourth position on a slippery track that demanded caution from the drivers. Even maintaining a competitive pace and staying close to the opponents — about half a second from the car ahead — the Brazilian could not advance and finished fourth after 16 laps.
In the second race, the W2 ProGP driver started from seventh position and had to recover ground quickly. With the Cupra Leon #77, he made a good start, advanced to fourth, and then made an outside overtaking move that put him in third place. With a consistent pace, he began to pressure Argentine Leonel Pernía in the direct fight for the championship lead.
The race was interrupted on the tenth lap with the entry of the safety car to remove a car, but on the restart Reis maintained a strong pace until, on lap 14, he made the decisive overtaking that secured second place and the championship lead. After 17 laps, he received the checkered flag in second and confirmed the new position in the standings.

In his analysis after the race, Reis highlighted the recovery throughout the weekend: “It was a day of strong emotions, in the first race I started from pole, but I ended up suffering some contacts and finished fourth. In the second race we started a little further back, but the W2 ProGP team found a great setup on the car and I was able to set a strong pace. At the end of the race, I knew I had to make the overtaking to regain the championship lead, it was on the limit and I am very happy. Now we go to Velocitta to try to fight for the championship title.”
The TCR Brazil title decision is scheduled for July 26, at the Velocitta Circuit.
