Daniel Holgado won this Sunday (22) the Brazilian GP, the second stage of the 2026 Moto2 season. In an exciting race, especially at the end, the Aspar driver fought a battle with Daniel Muñoz in the final laps at the Ayrton Senna International Racetrack, in Goiânia (GO), to take the victory by a margin of just over one second.

Second place went to Muñoz, who gained nine positions with Italtrans throughout the race. Manuel González, with an Intact GP bike, completed the podium in third place, overtaking Alex Escrig on the final lap, leaving the KLINT driver in fourth. David Alonso completed the top-5 of the race with Aspar.
Izán Guevara, a driver defending Pramac, closed the dispute in sixth position, with Tony Arbolino, from Fantic Racing, in seventh. The top ten list also included Collin Veijer, from Ajo, Celestino Vietti, from SpeedRS, and Iván Ortolá, from MSI.
The race had some crashes. On lap six, Jorge Navarro crashed, leaving the dispute. The same happened to Ángel Piqueras two laps later. On lap 20, it was Taiyo Furusato’s turn to crash, also abandoning the dispute in the capital of Goiás.
Moto2 will continue its championship next weekend, with the Americas GP, a race scheduled for the Circuit of the Americas, in Austin.

The start in Goiânia saw Alex Escrig taking the first position in the initial meters, followed by Daniel Muñoz and Daniel Holgado. David Alonso had a bad start, dropping to seventh at the beginning of the dispute. Right on the second lap, the top three opened a gap over their rivals, with Muñoz taking the lead.
Celestino Vietti lost time and dropped to 17th place on the second lap of the race. On the next lap, Holgado attacked Muñoz and took the lead, while Alonso, further back, was already appearing in fifth. One pass later, Jorge Navarro went down and abandoned the dispute.

Alonso continued advancing and overtook Manuel González on lap 5, taking fourth place in the race. Up front, Holgado pulled four tenths ahead of Muñoz, who had Escrig close by. On lap seven, Ángel Piqueras went down and left the Brazilian GP.
Unable to pressure the top three, Alonso lost fourth place to González on the ninth lap of the dispute in Goiânia. Holgado, in turn, pulled eight tenths ahead of Muñoz, the second-placed driver. Escrig remained in third, and close to the vice-leader.
On lap 14, Alonso was overtaken by Izán Guevara and Tony Arbolino, dropping to seventh place. Three laps later, it was Alonso’s turn to recover the position over the Italian. On lap 19, it was the Aspar driver’s turn to retake fifth place by passing the Spaniard.
With 20 laps, Taiyo Furusato crashed, abandoning the race. Up front, Muñoz cut Holgado’s difference to just four tenths. Escrig, who could no longer keep up with the leaders, began to be threatened by González, the fourth-placed driver.
With three laps remaining until the end, Muñoz overtook Holgado in the middle of the circuit, taking the lead. On the pit straight, the Aspar driver retook first position. A little further back, González passed Escrig to take third place.
Holgado went on to win the race, leaving Muñoz and González to complete the top-3.
