Manuel González won this Sunday (13) the San Marino GP, the 14th round of the 2026 Moto2 season. The Intact GP rider took the lead still in the first half of the race at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in Italy, withstood attacks from rivals to open a gap in the final laps, triumphing for the fifth time in this year’s championship.

Second place went to Collin Veijer, an Ajo rider who led the race at the start but finished just over two seconds behind González. The podium also included Barry Baltus, a Fantic Racing rider who fought for the lead until being penalized with a long lap for track limits. Iván Ortolá, from MSI, and Tony Arbolino, from Fantic Racing, completed the top 5.
Izán Guevara, on a Pramac bike, crossed the finish line in sixth position, followed by Celestino Vietti, seventh with SpeedRS. Alonso López, who almost fell at some moments, was eighth with Gresini, while David Alonso, from Aspar, was ninth. The top ten was completed by Álex Escrig, a KLINT Racing rider.

The race in Misano featured a multiple crash at the start, after Senna Agius, Daniel Holgado, and Ángel Piqueras fell at the first corner. The three formed the front row of the grid. On the second lap, Luca Lunetta crashed, also leaving the competition. On the seventh lap, there was another fall, Xabi Zurutuza’s, at turn 14. Another who did not finish the race was Filip Salac.
Moto2 continues the 2026 season next Sunday, when the Austrian GP will be held, a race scheduled for the Red Bull Ring.
