Moto3: Almansa leads Friday practice in Misano

David Almansa was the fastest rider on Friday (11) during free practice for the San Marino GP, the 14th round of the 2026 Moto3 season. In the last of the two sessions held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in Italy, the Intact GP rider recorded 1min40s767 in his best lap, leading the day.

Second place went to Joel Kelso, a GRYD Racing rider who was 0.402 seconds slower than Almansa. Championship leader Máximo Quiles ended the day with the third-best time on an Aspar bike, followed by his teammate Marco Morelli. The top 5 was completed by Rico Salmela from Tech3.

Valentín Perrone, on a bike prepared by Tech3, finished the session with the sixth-best time, ahead of Matteo Bertelle, seventh with MTA. Eddie O’Shea, on a GRYD Racing bike, was eighth, while Joel Esteban, from MTA, was ninth. The list of the top ten fastest is completed by Brian Uriarte from Ajo.

Besides the top ten, all with times set in the second practice of the day, four other riders secured their place in Q2 of Saturday’s qualifying. Connor O’Gorman from SIC58, Scott Ogden from CIP, Veda Pratama from Team Asia, and Adrian Fernández from Leopard Racing also go directly to the fight for pole position.

The Moto3 schedule in Misano will continue this Saturday (12), with another free practice at 3:40 am, and qualifying starting at 7:45 am. The San Marino GP starts at 6 am on Sunday.
