MotoGP: Bezzecchi surpasses Márquez and leads practice for the San Marino GP

Marco Bezzecchi was the fastest rider in the last free practice this Friday (11) for the San Marino GP, the 14th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the session held this morning at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, the Aprilia rider and third in the championship recorded his best lap time of 1min30s144, also securing a spot in Q2 of the qualifying.

The second position went to Marc Márquez, Ducati rider who led the first session of the weekend, but was beaten by Bezzecchi by 0.103 seconds. Álex Márquez, with a Gresini Ducati, finished the practice with the third best time, ahead of the VR46 duo, Ducati’s satellite team, which saw Fabio Di Giannantonio finish fourth, and Franco Morbidelli complete the group of the five fastest.

Pedro Acosta, with a KTM bike, finished the activity with the sixth best time, ahead of Luca Marini, seventh with Honda. Johann Zarco, LCR Honda rider, was eighth best, with Pol Espargaró, with a Tech3 KTM, finishing ninth. The list of the ten fastest in Misano was completed by the championship leader, Jorge Martín, a rider defending Aprilia.

The only Brazilian on the MotoGP grid, Diogo Moreira had a discreet result in the session. The LCR Honda rider finished the activity in 17th place, and thus will have to go through Q1 qualifying on Saturday morning in Italy.

MotoGP resumes its activities this Saturday (12) with a full day. At 5:10 there will be another free practice, and right after, qualifying at 5:50. The Sprint in Misano starts at 10:00. The San Marino GP is scheduled for 9:00 on Sunday.
