Gerson Campos left the Porsche Cup stage at Interlagos more of a leader than ever. In the Sprint Challenge class, he secured a victory and a podium to add important points to the championship.

The weekend at the José Carlos Pace Circuit was crowned with chaotic weather. Starting with sun and heat, the conditions for the two races were either rain or a wet track.
But Campos showed he can maximize any condition and after winning on Saturday, he crossed the finish line on Sunday in fourth, extending his lead at the top. “It was a cool race for those watching, right,” he said to the Porsche Cup broadcast.

“But starting from eighth position, I always thought about racing for the championship because in this condition it’s very easy to try to take risks and then, in a braking zone, you can’t understand the grip of the entire track,” he continued.
“So sometimes you change trajectory, the car can overshoot the braking, you hit another driver, so I was more watching what was happening, found a rhythm in the middle of the race, but from the middle to the end I don’t know what happened, if my tire lost pressure or something happened because the steering wheel became completely crooked, the car started to vibrate and I just brought it to the end and in the end that safety car helped me,” he concluded.
