Netflix has released a trailer with footage of the upcoming Formula 1 release: the documentary that recalls Michael Schumacher’s first championship season.

“Schumacher 94: Birth of a Legend” is the newest project from the streaming service focused on the seven-time German champion, following the documentary Schumacher released in 2021.

The year 1994 was filled with intense drama, emotion, and controversy, and was especially marked by the deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger during the San Marino GP weekend.
So, in the Netflix trailer, it is possible to see that Corinna, Michael’s wife, appears in several moments, as well as Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone, his former manager Willi Weber, and David Coulthard also being part of the project.
The production’s synopsis points out that “1994 marks a turning point in Formula 1 history: Michael Schumacher, at 25 years old, wins the first Grand Prix of the season in Brazil, laying the groundwork for an unprecedented career. The year 1994, one of the most dramatic and exciting seasons in Formula 1 history, was marked by impactful events, such as Ayrton Senna’s fatal accident, as well as accusations of manipulation and unfair driving maneuvers. At the same time, a true ‘Schumi-mania’ emerged.”

Schumacher 94: The Birth of a Legend premieres on October 2 on Netflix, one day after the 20th anniversary of his last Formula 1 victory, which took place at the 2006 Chinese GP.
