Pierre Gasly arrives in Madrid with renewed confidence after a standout weekend in Monza. The Alpine driver wants to turn the pole position achieved in Italy into motivation to keep the team scoring points at the Spanish Formula 1 GP.

The Frenchman stated that the last week was marked by different emotions, with the highlight being the pole on Saturday and converting the result into a good points finish on Sunday: “I am very satisfied and proud of everyone in the team,” said Gasly, emphasizing that the performance increased motivation to seek positions closer to the front more frequently.
Now, Alpine will face a completely new challenge in Madrid. Gasly has already experienced the circuit through the simulator and expects a fun experience on track, while the priority will be to gain pace quickly and find the best setup for the car: “The goal for us is to gain pace as quickly as possible, get the car to the ideal point, and try to continue our scoring streak,” he added.

Franco Colapinto also gave a positive assessment of Alpine’s performance in Monza, despite his frustration with his own race. The Argentine highlighted the pace shown in all sessions and the recovery that allowed him to finish in the points, as well as pointing out that the car’s updated package showed good performance and still offers room for learning.
The Madrid round will have a special meaning for Colapinto, who has lived in the city and has good memories of the period. The Argentine driver considers the circuit unique and expects a quick adaptation, especially because of the different corners and the banking in turn 12: “Finding pace quickly will be key for a successful weekend,” he concluded, reinforcing that the goal is to take advantage of the car’s potential and return to finishing in the points.
