George Russell will receive a special tribute at Silverstone starting from the 2027 British GP. The circuit announced the creation of a grandstand named after the British driver, reinforcing his connection with the local audience.

Named ‘GRandstand’, the new structure will be located at Farm Curve, a fast left-hand corner that connects Abbey to Village at the start of the lap. Russell will follow in the footsteps of Lando Norris, who also received his own grandstand at Silverstone, the ‘Landostand’, located at Stowe corner.
The tribute to Norris gained even more space in 2026, when its capacity was doubled after strong demand. With Russell’s new grandstand, two of Formula 1’s leading British drivers will have dedicated sections at the circuit considered the home of British motorsport.

Russell has seven wins and eleven poles in his career and is currently second in this year’s championship with Mercedes, while his best result at Silverstone came precisely at the 2026 British GP, where he finished second behind Charles Leclerc, achieving his first home podium in F1.
Russell’s connection with British motorsport began in karting, before winning the GP3 Series in 2017 and the Formula 2 championship in 2018. The following year, he entered Formula 1 with Williams, starting a journey that will now also be marked by his own grandstand at Silverstone.
