Moto3 Leader Quiles Overcomes Almansa and Wins Aragón GP

Máximo Quiles won on the morning of this Sunday (30) the Aragón GP, the 13th stage of the 2026 Moto3 season. In one of the most balanced races, the rider of the number 28 Aspar bike fought a good battle with David Almansa at MotorLand, a circuit located in the Spanish city of Alcañiz, to win for the seventh time this year, extending his lead in the championship.

Maximo Quiles

Second place went to Almansa, Intact GP rider who led most of the race but finished 0.264 seconds behind Quiles. Marco Morelli, with another Aspar bike, completed the podium in third place, followed by Álvaro Carpe, fourth with Ajo after battling in the leading group until the final laps. Brian Uriarte, also from Ajo, was fifth.

Adrián Cruces, with a CIP bike, finished the race in sixth place, just ahead of Casey O’Gorman, seventh with a SIC58 machine. Valentín Perrone, from Tech3, crossed the finish line in eighth place, while Guido Pini and Adrián Fernández, both Leopard Racing riders, closed the top 10 of the race.

The race featured some crashes. Nicola Carraro fell on the very first lap of the Aragón race, while Cormac Buchanan suffered a heavy crash on the fourth lap and was taken off the track on a stretcher. One lap later, at turn 17, it was Jesús Ríos’s turn to leave the race after crashing his bike. On the final lap, Rico Salmela fell at turn 7.

After the Aragón GP, Quiles reached 256 points and remains the championship leader with a large margin over his rivals. Carpe is second with 159 points, 97 behind the leader, while Almansa completes the top three with 154 points after 13 stages.
