Izan Guevara conquered pole position for the GP of England, the 12th round of the 2026 Moto2 season. In the final phase of qualifying held on the morning of this Saturday (8) at the Silverstone circuit, the Pramac rider recorded his best lap time of 2min01s483, securing the top spot for this Sunday.

The second position on the grid went to Alonso López, a Gresini rider who was 0.326 seconds slower than Guevara. The front row also includes Iván Ortolá, riding an MSI bike. Championship leader Manuel González starts fourth with Intact GP, followed by Daniel Muñoz, fifth with Italtrans. The list of the top six also includes Filip Salac from the American Racing Team.

Daniel Holgado placed seventh on an Aspar bike, opening a third row that will also include Alex Escrig from KLINT and Joe Roberts from the American Racing Team. Ayumu Sasaki, with equipment from RW Racing, starts tenth, with Senna Agius from Intact GP in 11th. The group of the top 12 on the grid will also have Celestino Vietti from SpeedRS Team.

The session saw the red flag deployed with just over eight minutes remaining, when Mario Aji and Zonta van der Goorbergh made contact, with Aji suffering a heavy fall in the Maggots, Becketts, and Chapel corners sector. The riders walked away from the accident site and the activity resumed shortly after.
The Moto2 GP of England will be held this Sunday, with the start scheduled for 7:15 AM, featuring a 17-lap race.
