Joshua Durksen won this Sunday (7) the race that closed the 2025 Formula 2 season, held at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. The Paraguayan driver from AIX Racing started from fourth position, but drove a combative race and relied on strategy to take the lead on the penultimate lap at the Emirati circuit to triumph for the second year in a row in the feature race in the United Arab Emirates.

Second place went to Roman Stanek, the Invicta driver who started from pole position and remained in the lead in the opening laps, finishing just over five seconds behind the winner. Gabriele Mini, from Prema, completed the podium in third place. Dino Beganovic, from Hitech, was fourth due to a penalty for speeding in the pits. Oliver Goethe, from MP Motorsport, completed the top five list.
Rafael Villagómez, in a Van Amersfoort car, finished the race in sixth place, finishing ahead of Kush Maini, seventh with DAMS. Ritomo Miyata, from ART Grand Prix, finished the contest in eighth, with Arvid Lindblad, winner of Saturday’s Sprint, crossing the finish line in ninth with Campos Racing. Jak Crawford, from DAMS, closed the points zone for this Sunday’s race.
The race featured a Safety Car entry on the second lap, when Alexander Dunne hit a sausage kerb and lost control of the Rodin car, hitting Victor Martins from ART Grand Prix. Shortly after, Cian Shields from AIX Racing was unable to avoid the Irishman and hit him. Then, on lap 10, Sebastian Montoya spun with the Prema and retired. First, the Virtual Safety Car was deployed, but two laps later the safety car took to the track.

The track results secured the teams’ title for Invicta Racing, a team that had already secured the drivers’ championship last weekend with Leonardo Fornaroli. The Italian driver, announced by McLaren as a reserve for 2026, finished this Sunday’s contest in only 11th place at the Yas Marina circuit.
Formula 2 will have post-season testing next week, but will only return to racing on March 7 and 8, in Melbourne, Australia.
