TCR South America will have a new team on the grid for the 2026 season. Uruguay Racing Team has been confirmed as the category’s new squad and will make its debut fielding three Peugeot 308 GTI TCRs, cars that until last season were part of the PMO Racing structure and accumulated significant victories, including the 2024 South American title with Brazilian Pedro Cardoso.

The arrival of Uruguay Racing Team marks the official return of the Uruguayan flag to the championship as a team, something that hasn’t happened since Alfa Racing’s participation in 2023. The project will be led by Enrique Cadenas, an experienced name in South American motorsport. The new team’s proposal is to establish a 100% Uruguayan operation within the category.
The Peugeot 308 GTI TCRs remain one of the most successful models in TCR South America and will continue in action for the 2026 season. Over the last few years, the car has accumulated more than ten victories in the region, in addition to winning the 2024 South American title. The model was also the TCR Brazil champion in 2024 and the Trophy Cup champion in 2023, with Brazilian Guilherme Reischl.

Uruguay Racing Team’s first official activity in the category is scheduled for the TCR South America pre-season tests, planned for mid-February. The activities will take place at an Argentine circuit, which will be confirmed by the organization in the coming days.
