TCR South America celebrates, in 2026, five years of a consolidated trajectory as one of the main categories of continental motorsport. Since its debut in the 2021 season, the championship has become the main reference for touring cars in South America, bringing together major manufacturers, prominent teams, and drivers of different nationalities on a sports platform with international reach.

For the president of TCR South America, Federico Punteri, the anniversary symbolizes the result of a project built collectively over the past few years.
“Completing five years is a source of great pride for everyone who is part of TCR South America. When we started this project, we faced the challenge of building a solid continental category, professional and aligned with the international standards of TCR. This anniversary represents much more than a number. It is thousands of kilometers traveled, countless hours of work, and the effort of people who bet on turning a dream into reality for South American motorsport. Success is the result of the joint work of teams, drivers, sponsors, racetracks, and collaborators who believed in this vision from day one,” said Punteri.
Over five seasons and fifty events contested, the category has raced on circuits in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, bringing together drivers from nearly fifteen nationalities and consolidating a structure that has driven the development of regional motorsport.
The championship has also allowed South America to fully integrate into the global model of the TCR platform. With a unified technical regulation under the rules of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), the category has opened new opportunities for drivers, teams, and manufacturers, strengthening the region’s presence in a concept already established in dozens of countries.

On the track, TCR South America has built a history marked by different champions. Pepe Oriola, Fabricio Pezzini, Ignacio Montenegro, Pedro Cardoso, and Leonel Pernía have won the titles of the five seasons contested so far. Another name that gained prominence was Raphael Reis, who became one of the main references of the category by participating in all races held since the championship’s creation.
Since the inaugural race, held at Interlagos in 2021, the category’s evolution has been constant. The growth in competitiveness, the arrival of new manufacturers, the expansion of international projection, and the consolidation of a solid business platform demonstrate the maturity of a project born with a focus on strengthening South American motorsport.
The five-year mark also represents the joint work of strategic partners, racetracks, government authorities, teams, drivers, collaborators, and fans who have followed the evolution of TCR South America since its first steps.
