The first free practice session of the second stage of the 2026 TCR South America and TCR Brasil season, which took place early Friday afternoon (27th) in Cascavel (PR), had an impressive result. Brazilian Pedro Cardoso and Argentine Leonel Pernía, the current champion, finished the session with the same time: 1min04s383. Cardoso drives a Cupra Leon VZ from G Racing Motorsport, while Pernía guides a Honda Civic Type R FL5 for the official team of the Japanese manufacturer.

The third best time of the session that opened general activities at Autódromo Zilmar Beaux went to Joaquín Cafaro, from Uruguay Racing Team, with 1min04s572. Nelson Piquet Jr., Pernía’s teammate, achieved the fourth best lap, 1min04s678, being followed by Enzo Gianfratti (G Racing), who recorded 1min04s797.
Fabian Yannantuoni (Paladini Racing) was the sixth fastest with 1min04s953. Right behind came Camilo Trappa (Hyundai MSA), with 1min04s996. Tiago Pernía (Honda Racing) secured the eighth time with 1min05s083. Rookie Gabriel Moura (Cobra Racing Team) finished ninth with 1min05s254. Current TCR Brasil leader, Raphael Reis (W2 Pro GP) closed the top-10 with 1min05s331.

TCR holds another free practice session still on Friday, at 16h00. Tomorrow qualifying takes place at 12h00, followed by Race 1, which is scheduled to start at 15h30. On Sunday, activities end with Race 2 at 14h10.
