Last Sunday Marcos Regadas competed in the first race of the Porsche Cup Brazil endurance championship, in Algarve, in partnership with Felipe Drugovich. The duo in car #17 was having a great race, even reaching second place, but a touch in the final laps caused the duo to retire from the race in Portugal.

Starting from sixth place on the grid, Marcos Regadas had a great start on the wet track and by the fourth lap was in third position. The driver from Maranhão had a great stint and on the 19th lap made the first mandatory pit stop.
Felipe Drugovich took over car #17 and maintained third position until the second stop, on the 36th lap. Regadas returned to the track and advanced to second position until the last pit stop, on lap forty-eight.
At this moment Drugovich resumed driving the Porsche #17, but a touch with a competitor forced the Formula E driver to bring the car back to the pits and retire from the race with only 12 laps remaining.

Marcos Regadas’ next commitment for the Porsche Cup Brazil takes place on September 5 and 6, at Interlagos.

“I passed someone under yellow flag without seeing, it must have been a Challenge car and I was penalized, but I served the penalty. The battle was very cool, a 300 km race and everyone fighting until the last lap, it’s a spectacle everyone wants to see. My two stints were very good, I climbed in the first to deliver in third, then climbed again to deliver in second position. Felipe Drugovich is a top driver.”
