Seven years ago, on August 31, 2019, Hubert and Juan Manuel Correa were involved in a severe accident during the first Formula 2 race of the weekend. Hours later, the death of the Frenchman was confirmed, while Correa survived but had to undergo numerous surgeries after the crash.

Since then, Gasly, Anthoine’s childhood friend, has been paying tributes and always makes a point of leaving a bouquet of flowers at the site. Also, once again this year, he organized the Run to Anthoine and along the seven kilometers, two stops are scheduled: one at Eau Rouge in memory of Hubert, and another at Kemmel Straight, in memory of Dilano van’t Hoff, who died in an accident in FRECA in 2023.
