Raphael Reis opens the TCR Brasil season with a second place in Curvelo

Last Sunday (8) Raphael Reis competed in the two races that opened the 2026 TCR Brasil Banco BRB season, in Curvelo (MG). The driver took second place in the first race held at the Circuito dos Cristais.

Starting from third position in the first race, Reis escaped contact and was in second place in the TCR Brasil race. The driver had a consistent pace and stayed close to the leaders.

After ten minutes of the race, the safety car was deployed to remove a competitor’s car that had crashed. At the restart, Reis had a tough battle with the car right behind him; they even touched, but the driver of the Cupra #77 maintained his position.

On the following lap, there was another safety car intervention. At the restart, Raphael Reis maintained his position. The race continued with a strong pace among the frontrunners, but Reis kept a good pace to take the checkered flag in second place in TCR Brasil.

In the second race, Reis started from eighth place due to the inverted grid rule; the driver had a good start and moved up two positions. Subsequently, the safety car was deployed, and the restart took place with 25 minutes remaining.

Raphael Reis again had a consistent pace and at that moment was already in fifth position in TCR Brasil. The driver moved up one more position before the end of the race and secured fourth place.

Raphael Reis’s next commitment in TCR Brasil takes place on March 29, in Cascavel.
