The 2026 Formula 2 season will resume this weekend with the Italy round, scheduled for the Monza National Autodrome. Third place in the standings, Rafael Câmara is expected to count on the support of the tifosi in Monza to get even closer to the top of the table. The Brazilian has been part of the Ferrari Driver Academy since 2022.

Since he started his career in cars, precisely in Italy, Câmara has always raced in Monza, with positive performances most of the time. Besides a pole in F4, the driver carries a win and two podiums at the Italian circuit during his FRECA days, and was fifth place racing in Formula 3 in 2025, in a round held after the Brazilian had secured the title.
For this weekend’s round, the driver of car number 1 from Invicta Racing highlights the importance of performing well from the free practice in order to fight for a good starting position in qualifying. Câmara is the record holder for pole positions in the current Formula 2 season, with four poles in nine rounds.
“First of all, free practice is very important. You learn where you need to be in qualifying, what you need to do with the team regarding the car setup. I think, on my part, I try to focus on the moment and the things I can control. Whatever I can do with the car at that moment, I want to take advantage of it,” said Rafael Câmara.

Owner of two wins and five podiums in the Formula 2 season, Câmara occupies third place in the standings, in addition to having four pole positions. Thus, the Brazilian, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, appears in third place in the championship, 22 points behind the leader, with five rounds remaining until the end of the championship.
The Formula 2 schedule in Italy will start on Friday, when the only free practice of the weekend and qualifying, which will determine the starting positions for the two races, take place. Saturday will feature the Sprint, starting at 9:15 AM, while the main race of the weekend is scheduled for 4:45 AM on Sunday. Sportv, Globoplay, and F1TV will show all the on-track action.
