Brazilian who defends Invicta Racing in Formula 2, Rafael Câmara remains in third position in the championship after the seventh round of the 2026 season, held at the Silverstone circuit in England. This Sunday (5), the driver finished the main race of the round in fifth place, staying among the leaders of the standings.

The driver, who secured pole position on Friday and finished the Sprint on Saturday in tenth place, Câmara fought for a podium spot throughout this Sunday. The current Formula 3 champion used a strategy of starting on soft tires and switching to harder compounds early in the race, securing another top-5 finish.
“Overall, it was a tough weekend. It was great to secure pole position on Friday, and starting at the front gave us a good opportunity to score well in the main race. Unfortunately, the start put us at a disadvantage and, from there, with the degradation of the soft tires, it was difficult to advance,” said Rafael Câmara after the race.
“I think the pace with the hard tires was better, but unfortunately, we simply ran out of laps to overtake [Alex] Dunne and challenge [Kush] Maini. It’s a bit frustrating to finish fifth after the potential we showed, but it’s good to add points and we will come back stronger in Belgium,” Câmara adds.

Holder of one win this season, achieved in Barcelona, Spain, Câmara also has three podiums, five top-5 finishes, 11 top-ten finishes, and three pole positions. With this performance, the Ferrari Driver Academy member has 94 points after the completion of the first half of the season.
The 2026 Formula 2 season continues in two weeks, on July 17, 18, and 19, with the eighth round of the championship scheduled for the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
