MotoGP had the definition of the starting positions for the Catalonia GP, the sixth round of the 2026 season, early this Saturday morning (16), both for the Sprint and the main race. Pedro Acosta was dominant in Q2 held at the Barcelona Circuit and recorded 1min38s068 with the KTM, securing the team’s first pole position since the 2020 European GP, achieved by Pol Espargaró in Valencia.

The front row will also feature two riders from Ducati satellite teams. Franco Morbidelli starts second with a bike prepared by VR46, while Álex Márquez, from Gresini, will start in third place. Meanwhile, Brazilian Diogo Moreira was eliminated in Q1 and starts both weekend races from 20th position with the LCR Honda.
The Sprint in Barcelona will take place later this Saturday, starting at 10 a.m., while the Catalonia GP is scheduled to start on Sunday from 9 a.m.
